In this Post, We are going to get quick view on Different Indian Special Forces. Different Forces of India have their own Specialized Team.
1) Indian Army - Para SF or Parachute Regiment
2) Indian Navy - Marcos Commando
3) Indian Air Force - Garud Commando
As they are of Different Wings, Their Work is also different. They all are trained for Different Purpose. There is some one more specialized unit of Commando, to Protect Country from Terrorists.

➤ Para Special Forces
The PARA Special Forces or The Parachute Regiment is a Commando unit of INDIAN ARMY. PARA Forces Created in June,1966 after India-Pakistan War 1965. in 1965 war, There was one Impromptu Commando unit of Indian army who took Part in war, MEGHDOOT FORCE. Meghdoot Force formed 1st Nucleus of Para SF which then Raised under Parachute Regiment. Till 1969, Para had Formed 2 Battalion, 9 PARA & 10 PARA. The 1st combat Mission of Para SF conducted during 1971 India-Pakistan War.

➤ MARCOS Commando
MARCOS is Specialized unit of INDIAN NAVY also known as Marine Commando. Thought of MARCOS 1st came in 1985 & 1st Raised in February, 1987. In the Early Stage of this Special Unit, they Trained by US NAVY SEALs & BRITISH SPECIAL FORCE. After creation, they were deployed in Srilanka Against Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam. They participated in multiple Operations. They played important role in a Kargil War, In 2008, MARCOS played Resistive role in Mumbai Terrorist Attack till NSG reached & They also Rescued People. MARCOS are sent to train with PARA SF for 3 weeks after 10 Weeks of basic Training. Each squad of MARCOS composed of 8 COMMANDOS called as 'PRAHAR'.

3) Counter-Insurgency

5) Warfare in different Terrains.
➨ Responsibilities of MARCOS
1) To Provide Support in Amphibious Operations
2) Special Surveillance & Reconnaissance Operations
3) Clandestine operations inside hostile Territory, including diving operations & Raids.
➤ GARUD COMMANDO
GARUD FORCE is specialized unit of INDIAN AIR FORCE. First thought of GARDUD COMMANDO'S formation came in 2002, then Officially established on 6, February, 2004. This Commandos are capable of
1) Counter Terrorism
2) Hostage Rescue
3) Protection of INDIAN AIR FORCE's Bases & Vulnerably Located Assets
4) To Lead Special Operations of AIR FORCE.
➤ NATIONAL SECURITY GUARD
The NATIONAL SECURITY GUARDS OR NSG is specialized unit for INTERNAL SECURITY of COUNTRY. The other 3 forces we mentioned above, they mainly deployed near Border or High Risk Territories. So, to Defend Country from inside Terrorist Attack, NSG was created. This FORCE formed in 1986. It is based on BRITISH SPECIAL AIR SERVICE & GERMAN GSG 9. NSG are also known as BLACK CAT COMMANDOS.

1) SAG - Special Action Group
2) SRG - Special Rangers Group
➤ SPECIAL FRONTIER FORCE
This unit is of RAW (Research & Analysis Wing). Created on 14, November, 1962. The reason of formation of this FORCE is to undertake operations against the CHINESE PEOPLE'S LIBERATION ARMY. They are also known as ESTABLISHMENT 22. The force initially was under Supervision of INTELLIGENCE BUREAU (IB) then it came under control of RAW. The force is consist of mainly of TIBETAN people whos task is to undertake operations in tough terrains of the HIMALAYA & TIBET. The main task of this FORCE is to lead special operations behind CHINESE Lines in case of Another WAR between INDIA & CHINA.
