●  Born - 23, January 1897 at Cuttack, Odisha.


●  Parents - Jankinath Bose (Father) and Prabhavati Dutt (Mother).

●  He was the 9th child out of 13.

●  His Father was Successful Lawyer and loyal to British.

●  1902 - He entered the Protestant European School in Cuttack.

●  1913 - He entered Presidency college,  Calcutta.

●  1914 - He traveled to North India to find spiritual Guru to Guide him.

●  20, October,  1919 He Readied his application of Indian Civil Services in London.

●  1921 - He returned to India from London to join Indian Nationalist Movement led by Gandhiji and The Indian National Congress. 


●  1938 - He became The President of Congress.

●  His Famous Words
    • "One individual may die for an idea, but that idea will, after his death, incarnate itself in a thousand lives."
    •  "It is blood alone that can pay the price of freedom. Give me blood and I will give you freedom".

●  1939 - After re-election,  difference arose between Gandhiji and Bose, The senior leadership supported Gandhiji and Bose resigned as President and was Ousted from the Party.

●  July, 1940 - Bose was arrested by Bengal Government over small Protest and latter kept house bound under strict Police Watch.

●  January, 1941 - He escaped from India,  heading North-Westward into Afghanistan.

●  April, 1941 - He arrived in Nazy Germany,  Where he got sympathy for India's Independence. 


●  November, 1941 - German funds were used to open a free India Centre in Berlin and set-up free Radio on which Bose did broadcast Nightly.

● Strong 3000 Indian POWs ( Prisoner of War) recruited to serve Bose named Free India Legion.

●  As German Army had mired in Russia, a German land Invasion of India became untenable and Japan had Won quick Victories in Asia, Bose became keen to move South-east Asia.

●  May, 1942 - Adolf Hitler suggested the same and Offered the submarine through which Bose was transferred to Japanese submarine and He disembarked in Japanese held Sumatra in May, 1943.

● His Wife ( Emilie Schenkl) , his Daughter and 3000 Indian Soldiers remained in Germany,  left to Uncertain Future.

●  1942 - The Indian National Army (Azad Hind Fauj) had been formed from POWs of British Indian Army Captured by Japanese.

●  With Japanese support,  a Provisional Government of Free India was formed under Bose in Japanese occupied Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

●  In late 1944 and Early 1945, The British Indian Army attacked on Indian National Army and Japanese,  almost half of troops were get killed.

●  Bose didn't Surrendered and Bose choose to escape to Manchuria to seek a future in the Soviet Union which he believed to turned anti-British.

●  Died - 18, August, 1945 at Taipei, Taiwan.
